Mini Baja
2002 - 2005
The Mini Baja's exist as part of the SAE International mini Baja competition. The original mini Baja (pictured above) made it to the competition a few years ago. It was then retired and a new mini Baja project was started. The old Baja actually ran until one of the plastic gears in the engine cracked in half. The plan for the old Baja at the time was to find an old motor so we can run it for fun.
The most recent Baja was designed then to run in this year’s competition but due to a rule change in the thickness of the tubing that idea is now a pipe dream. It was then being finished almost single-handedly by our resident cripple. Like the old Baja, this new Baja will be used as a "fun" vehicle serving no real purpose.
